If you have privilege use it to bring power to those without.
This song was written after someone I'd known for most life chose to not speak out against racism, citing freedom of speech. This after using the black lives matter platform to sell content for donations to BLM. This person actively benefits from the marijuana industry. As someone who is benefiting an industry that has jailed many black and brown american people.
You are entitled to your opinion, but history will show you what side was right or wrong.
Black Lives Matter.
Now is absolutely the time to be having these conversations.
I hope that we as a collective can learn to be better.
lyrics
Hold it right there,
You're not going anywhere.
Hold it right there,
you're not going anywhere.
Hold it right there,
You're not going anywhere.
I tried to tell you, but you wouldn't let me help you
now look where we are
Look how far you got all on your own now
I can't even help you you're grown now.
Wow, what a break down..
and holy shit are you serious? is this your face? Well I see you now, you're all broke down, afraid of change.
Like it could bring you pain to share your space..
Why did you wait to show your face?
Are you less afraid because of the puppets playing the game?
Do you feel less alone when you're surrounded by the others just like you?
We'll see how this goes when you're on the wrong side of history,
we'll see how this goes.
It's no mystery history repeats itself
so watch your mouth, before I shut you down, before I shut you down.
If you got some shit to say you should say it to my face so I can put you in your place
aint no space for a racist
aint no space for a racist.
